Tensile strength is a crucial parameter involved in the design and analysis of cemented paste backfill (CPB). The ability CPB to withstand tensile forces essential for stability backfilled stopes, particularly areas with high stress or deformation. critical used sill mats perform underhand cut-and-fill operations. This study presents novel technique that utilizes rectangular dog-bone specimens compression load converters direct determination strength. indicates prevailing assumption regarding ratio unconfined compressive (UCS) (i.e., 10:1 12:1) underestimates results suggest closer 3:1 4:1. findings indicate varies curing interval. Specifically, tensile-to-compressive ratios were higher early-age specimens, as values do not increase at same rate those disparity has notable implications, underestimating via traditional UCS-to-tensile could potentially inflate binder consumption.
